Australian Made Manufacturing excellence is the fine art of perfecting your people, product and processes. Molmic sofas are created to give you the support and comfort you can trust day in and day out. Molmic’s no sag steel sprung suspension is designed to conform to the shape of the body. They absorb the pressure to provide a uniform comfort across the entire sofa for a luxurious seating experience with lasting support and exceptional durability.

It is important to note that Molmic manufacture all the frames in-house as this provides for greater quality control and factory efficiencies. We also use a process, which in cabinetry terms is referred to as mortice and tenon, this is a traditional manufacturing technique used for strength in joints. We also place Hardwood blocks in corners for added strength. With our attention to details and precision our frames will provide you with a quality product that is made to last.
Quality and Comfort From the felt and feather to the timbers and the springs, all componentry is hand-picked. For each design in every range, the individual components are chosen on the basis of specific attributes. We are reputed as a leader in the Australian furniture industry and our skills with fabric and leather upholstered furniture have been collected in earnest. Our craftspeople understand and use the best raw materials and apply stringent quality control processes.

Australian made designed and crafted, you can trust that your Molmic sofa has endured strict quality control, has no harmful chemical properties, is treated with anti dustmite properties and free from formaldehyde. At Molmic we are intimately connected with suspension systems, lumbar support and ergonomic design. We know our foams, fibres and cushions like they are old friends or more like part of the family.
Handmade Rather than letting a machine control the process – handmade allows the heads and hands, skill and interpretation to come together. This drives everything we do. A lot of craft in handmade furniture is not visible, not obvious to the eye. But it is embedded in the structure and our customers know this translates to quality.

“Its hard to see it all from the outside, but the care that goes into the design, materials and crafting of each piece is what makes our couches so durable and comfortable as well as looking great.” – Molly McMahon, founder.

We use equipment when the precision will improve the product, but our emphasis is always on individual attention to each process and each piece.
Craftsmanship Molmic designs are conceived, produced and manufactured locally, working exclusively with the best timber and upholstery craftspeople in Australia. Design & Ergonomics “We want your experience to be full of colours and textures to choose from; to create the right design expression as well as meet your functional needs.” Anna McRae, daughter and creative director.

We have full control over every aspect of the design process and we use that control to make sure our furniture is lovingly crafted and flawless in its technical function.
Good Wood Produced from responsibly managed forests or reclaimed and salvaged sources. This process protects old growth and endangered forest species whilst promoting transparent supply chain management through certifications such as QA. Molmic choose to use a combination of hard woods such as Tasmania Oak, plantation timbers and plywood.

All Molmic frames are manufactured in our in house wood shop and are backed by a 10 year structural frame warranty.
Warranty It is in our care and control of quality that enables Molmic to have a 10 year warranty on the frames for each and every sofa, chair and modular. Local Economy Made locally in Melbourne, supporting neighbouring community business and minimising carbon footprint from transportation and supporting domestic employment.

It is important wherever possible to support our local economy providing much needed jobs and skills, we cannot afford to rely on importing products alone. Manufacturing locally is still very valuable to our society and affects many directly and indirectly.

We can trust and support fair practices and know that the materials used to make our furniture adheres to strict quality controls, including free formaldehyde fabrics and leathers.
Our People Molly McMahon is an award winning Australian Managing Director with more than 32 years of manufacturing experience. Prior to furniture and lounge manufacturing Molly was involved in the retail clothing industry owning and operating a childrens clothing and baby wear retail store. The element of design and creative drive lead to an interest in furniture design, by chance they bought an existing lounge manufacturing business but it was all quite a shock and it took persistence, determination, training a lot of hard work and a change of name to Molmic. One half Mol the other half Mic, Molly's husband and partner before the business tasted success.

Today Molmic employs over 50 people and all Molmic products continue to be designed and made in Melbourne. Molly is still very hands on and involved in all aspects of the daily running of the business. What Molly loves best is to work on new designs and development and is surrounded by a great team who continually strive to be innovative and effective in their marketing and manufacturing processes.
